Greetings, dear readers! Let
me introduce to you today the Secretary of Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club,
Mr. Vincent Chen. Vincent is a talented man who looks younger than his age and
attributes the credit of his looks to leading an inspired life thanks to his
regular and proactive participation in the toastmasters family.
Vincent is one of the rising
stars of Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club, famous for his speciality in
delivering tremendously inspiring speeches. Less than a year into his
toastmaster’s journey, Vincent has been known to influence audiences through
his speeches that often have very meaningful as well as inspiring morals. A
frequent visitor to external clubs, Vincent has been highly appreciated by many
in the toastmasters circuit for his oratorical skills.
Vincent’s dedication towards
Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club is evident from the fact that he has taken up
the very important role of Club Secretary so early on in his toastmasters
journey. It is this inspired and enthusiastic attitude that makes Vincent so popular
among his peers. He is known for always inspiring speakers with his
appreciation of their efforts in preparing a speech.
Vincent is a Human Resources
professional who likes to play chess during his free time. When he is free and
not playing chess, he likes to put his taste buds to good use as a passionate
foodie!
Presented below is a short
interview with Vincent about his goals as well as his reasons for joining the
Executive Committee:
Why join the
Executive Committee?
I joined the Executive Committee
primarily to gain and develop a better relationship with our club and
its members. In my short stint here, I have witnessed firsthand the concern,
drive and warmth of Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club in developing not
only better speeches but also the friendship that it offers. Therefore, I
decided that it would be a good opportunity for me to forge stronger
ties with existing members and to source for new ties with new members
by joining the Executive Committee. As a result, I shall be able to give
back and contribute thoroughly to our beloved club.
What do you
intend to gain from your role?
I am probably not a very good
listener, and sometimes miss key points and at times jump to conclusions
quickly. Moreover, I am also quite new to the club. With my role as Club
Secretary, I intend to improve my listening skills and to understand in more
detail the club's operations and goals by working together with the other members
as a team.
How do you
plan to help the club through your role?
Even though my role is a supporting
one involving management of a plethora of documentation and minutes of meeting,
I believe that the habits of maintaining effective records and disciplined
administration will allow the club to make better decisions to further
help our members in their journey of becoming better toastmasters.
Any other
thought you want to convey?
I believe that it is sincerity, warmth and
trust that have brought Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club where it is
today. I hope that we can extend these qualities to all members and
continue to create new memories, friendship and laughter in the new term.
I truly believe that together, we all can make a difference.
Ladies and gentlemen, keep following this page
