Members of Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club always combine learning with fun. So, it is natural for them to continue a contest with a bonding event. That is precisely what they did when they organized the March bonding event right after the International Speech and Table Topics Contest.
The extremely interesting contest was followed by the usual practice of club members to hang around and enjoy the evening. So some of the members went to Tampines Mall where Toastmaster Kapil treated them to good coffee. Then they went for an afternoon rest and soft (and hard) drink session at the house of Toastmasters Arjun and Ashish. What ensued was an afternoon of great music, dancing and catching up. In addition, some of the extremely focused (read geeky) toastmasters analysed the contest speeches and even tried to learn from the district speeches of veteran club member Tosatmaster Michael Wee.
In the evening, the toastmasters went for the monthly bonding activity at Jumbo Seafood at East Coast Park. The only way to describe these two hours of eating is: Chilli Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Oatmeal Prawn, Salted Egg Kailan, Fried Fish! Everyone was beyond full.
This was followed by a session of sitting by the beach, talking an enjoying the weather. Drinking games were also very much in session and people had a great time. Toastmasters also decided to go for a walk around East Coast Park. The beautiful moon and cool breeze were too much to resist.
The evening ended with great camaraderie among all the toastmasters. Some toastmasters decided to extend the night further and make their own plans and others decided to rest and digest the fantastic speeches that had been consumed throughout the day.
By the end of the night everyone was happy and realized that it had been a very satisfying day indeed!
