Speechcraft 2013!

Speechcraft 2013

-learn to communicate better, speak more fluently and with more confidence

-learn to overcome the fear of public speaking. Stare the fear in the face and do it anyway!

-learn to be better leaders by Listening, Thinking and Speaking better, getting involved in organizing activities and events, and by contributing.

What you will learn: 

-controlling your nervousness

-controlling your voice

-doing our Competent Communication Projects: 1- The Ice Breaker, 2- Organize your Speech and 3- Get to the Point all within 1 month!

What are the Speechcraft dates?

1st November (Friday) 7pm to 10pm

8th November (Friday) 7pm to 10pm

15th November (Friday) 7pm to 10 pm

21st November (Thursday) 7pm to 10pm (chapter meeting)

29th November (Friday) 7pm to 10pm

(this is an integrated programme and you have to attend all sessions)

How much will it cost?

$180, including 6 months' free membership to Toastmasters International. If you've already joined us at Tampines Changkat Toastmasters, you can get a special price of $100 because you're already a member (ie you won't get the membership, you already have that)

18th July Demo Meeting at LTA Academy

We had a wonderful demo meeting at LTA Academy, initiated by Lee Jin Hwui, DTM and Lai Seng. Great job!

Joe Wan's philosophies of "Commit first, panic later" and "Be the First One in your life" and the examples from his own life, were educational and entertaining. Next Gladys Tye's "PHD- Purpose, Hunger and Drive" give us a guide to a remarkable life. Ng Kin Foong, CC, told stories from his life about finding love, all the way from his teenage years till the time he was studying German. Yew Run Bin, ACS, CL, delivered a moving speech about opening our hearts to love, and "The Virginia Effect", had some audience members in tears.

Also I felt President Gurmit Singh, CC gave a timely opening address about the history of Toastmasters and how it all began, was appropriate because many of us do not know the origins and history of Toastmasters.

Thomas Tan, CTM, ALS, was hugely entertaining as Toastmaster of the Day.

Brand new chapter meeting in a positive note!

The first chapter meeting of 2013 saw a Ray, June and Carl delivered their next project speeches. Congratulations! 

I personally felt each member improve significantly by each project and i definitely enjoyed myself as I am enriched by the speech topics that ear very relevant to our lives such as Ray speech on the "SANDWICH GENERATION". I was engrossed!   

For table topic segment, our seasoned toastmaster Coen Tan hosted eight uplifting topics such as "KINDNESS", "GOING THE EXTRA MILE", "THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED" which got everyone interested to take part.

1st CHAPTER MEETING for the YEAR 2013!

Ladies and gentlemen,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  2013 is here! What are your plans? What are your goals? Where do you want to see yourself by 31st December 2013?
It is a foregone conclusion that some will have just grown a year older while others would have grown a year wiser.
Which will be the face you want to see in the mirror as the 1st of January 2014 dawns upon you?

Come join us for the 1st CHAPTER MEETING for the YEAR 2013 of TAMPINES CHANGKAT TOASTMASTERS CLUB on THURSDAY, 3RD JANUARY 2013 for a great dose of motivation to ease you out of your inertia, to help you peek out of that self imposed shell and to break out of that comfort zone to a year of learning and growing among Champions.
