With the clubs' contests barely over, the competition season hots up a notch further with the Area S4 International Speech and Table Topic contests.
The winner or representative of each club now carries the pride and pressure of the club he or she represents and each worthy contestant is anxiously waiting to pitch his or her best with the best of the other sister clubs in the area.
It was a night of cold tension indeed (the room was rather cold). Contestants and fellow toastmasters of the clubs in the area and those from other areas promptly came and said hi to one another and to of course enjoy the speeches of the evening.
The night started off with the International Speech contest. The speech order has been picked by the participants themselves. The order of appearance is as below. Click on the name of the contestant to view their performance on video.
1. Novarro Choo
2. Lim Da Hong
3. Cheryl Beh
4. James Wai

Well, what do we have, after a night of laughter, tears and encouragement? Of course the result that everyone was waiting for. Nevertheless, I believe that everyone present was able to bring something home that evening - something precious to his/her own life and that which might help him/her improve on a certain aspect of his or her life.
Drums roll please!!!!!
And the winner of the Area S4 International Speech Contest 2007 goes to...
James Wai! Congratulations James for winning this contest again! The first runner up is Cheryl Beh on her first win at the Area Level International Speech Contest.
Not to keep everyone waiting, we have the results of the Area S4 Table Topic Contest 2007. And the winner goes to...
Winson Lim! Winson has made us laugh so much that the judges were totally impressed with his impromptu manipulation of the table topic! One of the finest performances that I've seen from Winson so far. The first runner up is none other than our club supremo Chong Cheng Lee who never fails to make us laugh with her side of the story of her marriage with Michael Wee. The second runner up is James Wai, picking up his second trophy of the night. Well done James!
Well, that's it for now! The winners of each contest will go on to represent the Area in the Division S International Speech and Table Topic Contests. Well done all winners and let us give our support to the two winners by attending the Division S Contests, shall we?!
