How many of you feel that in this globalized age, it becomes very important to learn how to express ourselves well?
For us to compete in the global job market, we must learn
to speak better English and express themselves more at the work place.Trained to be followers from young and patted on the head approvingly
by both teachers and parents for not speaking out against authorities,
Singaporeans tend to lose out a lot when it comes to verbal
articulation. I have spoken to many Aussies while staying in Sydney the past few
years and found them to be fluent in their spoken language as it’s their
native language.
I told my reader maybe he can consider joining a Tostmaster programme as
they teach people how to speak properly in front of an audience.

Why not drop by our club? I have enjoyed club meetings, and have learnt to speak well. I am sure you will too!

The Three Ps
Fellow Toastmasters,
It's been a while and I know you're eager to hear from me. Today I want to talk to you
about the 3 Ps:
- PROGRESS: What if you could PROGRESS quickly in your Toastmasters journey? Accelerate your achievement? Good or good? And how about..
- PERSONALIZED guidance: If someone, a past (or current) President of our beloved Toastmasters club, could HELP you, GUIDE you and MENTOR you with 3 of your speeches, would that be of IMMENSE VALUE to you? Speaking of which...
- PROFILE: What do 3 past Presidents, 1 current President and a commando have in common? You guessed it, they'll be the ones HELPING you CRAFT your speech, sculpt it, and evaluate it to make it even BETTER. They are: Coen Tan, ACS, CL; Shaun Li, ACB, CL; Andrew Chen, ATMB, ALS; Ted Chong, CC, CL and Ng Kin Foong.
So what is this AWESOME programme? It's
our SPEECHCRAFT, and it starts this Friday, 23rd November,
2012, at 7pm. Venue is Tampines Changkat CC. You still have time to

Chapter Meeting - 15 November 2012
Ladies and gentlemen,
You are cordially invited to Tampines Changkat
Toastmasters Club’s 440th Chapter Meeting on 15th November 2012.
Now just how many clubs
can boast of such a history??
With all the great speeches in store for you in the
upcoming meeting, including an Educational Segment from a Champion Speaker, you
might just become addicted to Tampines Changkat's highly charged and energised
approach towards great public speaking skills and self-improvement.
Many others before you have experienced real
personal growth which affects every aspect of their life. This can only be the
reason why we all chose to become members of a toastmasters club in the first
place.
We’ve always heard, "It's those of us who
remain committed, who continue to grow!" and I have found this to be true
in my personal experience with toastmasters and I am sure you will find it true
for yourselves.
So be at Tampines Changkat this Thursday for the spills and thrills of public speaking!
(Chapter meeting starts promptly at 7.30pm, please come
early at 7pm for dinner so that we can end on time. Your
punctuality is greatly appreciated!!)Thanks and regards,
Gurmit Singh
Vice-President (Education)
