Tampines Changkat TMC International Speech and Table Topic Contest 2012

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Tampines Changkat will be having their International Speech and Table Topics Contest on the 1st March 2012.

This is a good opportunity for you to showcase your skills that you have accumulated till today as a toastmaster. This is also a good opportunity to rub shoulders with the crème_de_la_crème of other clubs, as the first place and runner up will represent our club and advance to the area S4 contest.

There are limited slots for the contests, so please do not wait till the eleventh hour to sign up! Contestants need to have at least completed their P6 before signing up. Interested members, kindly contact Raymond at yeokueipeng@yahoo.com.sg

Tampines Changkat Toastmasters 422nd Meeting

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Do you sometimes feel unmotivated or even devastated about going nowhere in your journey?

As human,we are all subjected to emotions. After delivering an awesome speech and garnering pouring praises from our fellow members, we feel euphoric at one instance but the very next day at work, our feelings may plunge to an all-time low, for whatever reasons.

In toastmasters, besides honing our communications proficiency, we are here to immerse in the positive environment.

It is where everyone are most upbeat and most keen to make the most out of their life. It shows from the fact that we drag our feet to the meeting venue despite a rough day at work.

We may not be seeing progress as of yet, but the positive energy that we feed on provides us with the fuel to move on.

This chapter meeting, we have 5 speakers who exude the positive aura, shown by the discipline, perseverance and passion they dedicate towards completing their project(from conceptualizing to crafting to delivering) in spite of all the hectic workload and commitments that are bogging them down.

Join me in celebrating the speakers and ourselves for turning up and saying 'yes' to life this thursday.

See you this thursday for an enlivening, enlightening and entertaining evening !!

(Chapter meeting starts promptly at 7.30pm, pls come early at 7pm for dinner so that we can end on time. Appreciate your punctuality!

Tampines Changkat TMC Language Evaluation and Table Topic workshop

Ladies and Gentlemen,

a mark of any great entity, any great club, any great organization lies are the stable of talents it has.

It that enough?

No, these talents needs to be given the opportunity and freedom to express their freedom.

Once they have that, not only the entity, club or organization grows and prosper.

The lives of people affiliated with the club, entity and organization will also be enriched

On 4th Feb, 50 participants, Tampines Changkat TMC and Toastmaster were enriched by the Tampines Changkat TMC Language Evaluation and Table topic workshop.

This workshop was the fruit of two of our brightest talents, Coen Tan, JinHwui.

They were wholehearted and sincere in their sharing.

The contents were great, but what made the sharing powerful was the unique and creative personal touch in transferring the knowledge to the audience.

The 50 participants in the auditorium got the message, not only did they got, they are inspired to act on the these new found knowledge and skills.

The workshop created change:

At a personal level, the participants will become better listeners, thinkers and speakers

At toastmasters level, we will hear better impromptu speeches and there will be more language evaluators

At a societal level, the world will have less conflicts, as good thinking and speaking forms the crux of communication.

After all, communication (or rather miscommunication) is the source of most conflicts

Such an life changing workshop did not just materialized from thin air, it took place because of heroes who made it happened:

Appointment holders: Ted, Wesley and Andrew

Dear members, remember the "Why?", the reason to joining TM?

From this example please take this back: When you materialize the "Why", not only yourself will grow.
Your club, toastmasters, and the society will prosper through your actions.

Just as how the efforts of Coen, JinHwui, Matthew, Ted, Wesley and Andrew, have touched the the lives of the 50 participants, toastmasters and the society.

Remember: BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD!!!
