Tampines Changkat TMC Chapter Meeting - 20 September 2012

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Another great line-up of speakers is ready to entertain you with their prepared speeches.

Two more members are ready to cross the half-way mark of their basic communication journey.

As we all know, this journey is one which requires encouragement and support for most of us, the very reason which would have attracted many of us to this movement in the first place.

So be there to offer your encouragement and support to your fellow members as they progress forward in their journey to be better speakers and leaders.

The newer members can definitely benefit from listening to members who are just ahead of them too.

So be there to give support or pick up tips to help you in your own journey.

 

(Chapter meeting starts promptly at 7.30pm, please come early at 7pm for dinner so that we can end on time. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated!)

First Ever

While we soak in the euphoria of the successful Humorous speech and speech evaluation contests held last Thursday, 6 Sep 12.

Where Kin Foong and Run Bin contended with the strong challengers and broke through to the Area S4 contest.

A strong testimony that Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club is serious in a fun way. However, just a week before on Friday, 31 Aug 2012, we prove that we are also serious about having fun.

On that day, we had our first ever restaurant chapter meeting at Oriton Cafe!!!

Below is the highlight of events that happened on the 31st, as felt, seen and heard by our esteemed club president, Ted Chong.

Dear Folks,

Our 1st  ever restaurant chapter meeting  was a huge success yesterday! Thanks to all of you. 

The turnout was splendid as almost all seats were fully filled. As with any events, there were some minor glitches such as TV screen not working, ribbons and buzzer were not present and food was not quite enough, but with sheer determination, we manage to exercise our impromptu thinking and circumvent all these problems to ensure a smooth meeting. Awesome

Many guests and members have offered raving feedback for this meeting. 

Kin Foong asked how often can we have such a meeting in restaurant  as he like it tremendously. 

Leslie mentioned that the meeting was very well-organized. He also said that the table topics were very light-hearted and well chosen for the event. 

Roger enjoyed himself and say that the chapter meeting was warm, cozy and heartening. 

Special mention to Carl, Kejin and Gurmit for putting the program together. 

Let us continue the momentum for future successes throughout the term.

The Prodigy and the Return!

Dear Tampines Changkat Toastmasters,

Last night, we crowned new champions for our club in the Humorous Speech and Evaluation Speech Contests!

Congratulations to Kin Foong for being the Humorous King of Tampines Changkat!  What an introduction to Toastmasters for you, in what is essentially only your 2nd prepared speech in Toastmasters.  Your content, cum delivery was just spot on!  A deserved winner, you are the new Prodigy of Tampines Changkat!

Congratulations to Run Bin for being the deserved winner of the Evaluation Contest!  What a comeback, it felt like you were never away!  The delivery was smooth, the points insightful, and the manner very encouraging!

Congratulations to Kin Foong and Run Bin.  Now, you'll fly the Tampines Changkat Flag at the Area Contest on 15th September 2012 1:30 - 6:00 p.m. at Temasek Polytechnic!  Members, be there to support our champions!

Once again, our annual Humorous Speech and & Evaluation Contest is here!
It will be held on 6 September 2012, Thursday evening at Tampines Changkat Community Centre.

Our contestants will put up their best performance to keep your entertained.
Our contestants will motivate the test speaker with their constructive words.
Our contestants will wow you with their skills and abilities!
