Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club 415th Chapter Meeting on 3 November 2011
Ladies & Gentlemen,
Do you remember how was it like when you did your 1st speech in toastmasters ?
It sure was nerve-wrecking, but the feelings of accomplishment that followed was awesome, isn't it?
Our club has been bestowed the Smedley Award from TI for registering 5 new members during this period and I'm so glad our new members are more than eager to kick their toastmasters journey.
This Chapter meeting, we have 2 speakers presenting their P1 speeches and breaking the ice.
Wesley has 2 best table topic ribbons under his belt before he even started on his 1st prepared speech. A fast learner as we have all witnessed. As our IPP often says, " Good public speaking begins with good private thinking." With Wesley's trademark inspirational speeches, aren't you keen to find out more about him ?
Thomas has been a familiar face even while he was a visitor, having attended countless chapter meetings and being most helpful, spontaneous and vibrant at the meetings. Finally, here comes the chance to hear him speak and to tell more about himself!

Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club 414th Chapter Meeting on 20 October 2011
2 weeks back, we held a successful chapter meeting despite of the heavy pouring and thunderstorm and despite of the allure of an enticing nap at home. All our appointment holders and speakers faithfully turned up. Our spirits and passion for personal growth was not dampened by the rain or any other barriers that will stand in our way.
That penchant towards personal development is what makes us uniquely toastmasters.
This chapter meeting, our VPM, Virginia is going to induct our new and relatively new members into the journey of becoming a better speaker, a better leader and a better person. It is when we witness new toastmasters make a promise for a commitment to personal growth and development.
On top of that, we have our soon-to-be inducted member, Sana embodying the spirit, taking her 1st step towards personal growth by challenging herself into breaking out of her comfort zone. She will be attempting P1.
Seasoned or new toastmasters , join us this thursday to renew your commitment towards personal development and to lend support to our prepared speakers. Not forgetting your favorite food and fun!

Dear members,
Speaking opportunities arises anywhere and anytime around us. Our toastmasters training serves to prepare us well with a wide spectrum of appointment and speaking role to develop an all-rounded speaking skill suited for all occasions.
This Thursday, continuing with the hype of education after Coen's evaluation segment last week, our senior member, Andrew has kindly agreed to conduct an educational segment on how to be an effective 'Toastmaster of the evening.' What are the things to look out for as a host? What kind of speaking style do i have to adopt ? How does being a host improve my speaking?
These are the questions which will be answered on that day. So, the next time someone seek your help in hosting a wedding, you are all ready to say : ' Yes, why not!'
But before that, put what you learn to use by taking up the role of TME first in our practicing ground(chapter meetings).
On top of that, we are having another new member, Eldrid attempting his maiden speech this thursday, how exciting! Come and support Eldrid as he breaks the ice!

Ladies and gentlemen,
Have you felt how is it like to be able to make a positive impact on a fellow toastmaster's journey? Have you ever pick up the weakness of fellow speakers which happens to be present in you as well? Have you gave your 1st project evaluation in toastmasters?
Evaluation is one of the valuable skills that we develop in toastmasters which compasses various aspects of our personal development such as listening, awareness, critical thinking and most importantly, the satisfaction of helping others. I can still vividly remember the appreciative look displayed on the face of my 1st evaluation subject. This proves that we do not have to be a saint in order to help others. It begins with a heart of willingness.
This thursday, our evaluation guru, Coen Tan who happens to be the area S4 evaluation contest 2011 1st runner-up has kindly step out to share his expertise in this area. He will be first conducting a segment on 'evaluate to motive' , followed by an evaluation of the project evaluators at the end of the PE segment.
Fellow toastmasters, whether you are a first-time evaluator or a seasoned one, now is the time to sharpen your saw!
On top of that, a brave new member of ours is stepping out of his comfort zone to attempt his P1, another great man in making. Let us give our support to Rufin as his breaks the ice.

Have you had a toastmaster 'surprise' lately ?
Last chapter meeting, my toastmaster surprise came in the form of a trophy. Like everyone else, i join TM to improve on my communications but i got much much more than what i bargained for. Great friends, improved self awareness, better clarity, among many others.
Yes! All these are by-products when you totally immerse yourself in the journey and play all out.
This chapter meeting, we have 4 speakers who are ready to own the stage and deliver their 'surprises' to us.
As part of the advanced leadership requirement, Andrew will be attempting his high performance leadership speech. If you are confused about what it is all about, come and see for yourself what surprises he has in store for us.
After sharing with us on how he joined toastmasters last month, Stephen is back with more surprises in his P2.
Our twin warriors, Zamir and Gerald will showcase their vocabulary surprises in their P4.
Such a fabulous program contributes to our way of learning and playing at the same time, while awaiting our surprises.
