Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club 391st Chapter Meeting on 4 November 2010

Dear Members and Guests,

When was the last time, you savored the sweet, the sour, and the saltiness of every single bite?

When was the last time, you enjoy the thrill, excitement and joy of playing? In fact, when was the last time you played?

When was the last time, you loved what you did, and did what you love?

Many a times, we rush through our lives;

without slowing down the pace,

without smelling the roses and

without learning the lessons the world has for us.

On the 4^th of Nov 2010, let’s slow down our pace and see the world through a renewed sense of enthusiasm!

Till then, let’s have a sneak preview of what’s going to happen this coming Thursday at our upcoming 391^st Chapter Meeting!

• What lesson will Shaun Li share with us as he delivers his AP3 of story telling manual?

• What a cool, charming and charismatic speaker. That was what I thought of him, when I saw him present his project 1; see how Paul from Money Mastery TMC dazzles as he presents his Project 6.

• It’s only a month after he shared about himself in his maiden speech in toastmasters. See how he grows as Cher Teck delivers his project 2.

• Feedback, that help you continue what you have been doing well. Feedback, that helps you fine tune. Look forward to a line up of Evaluators, our very own Nathaniel, Run Bin and Emmanuel as well as invited guests: Ram from ITMA TMC and Angela from the UK!

• For the role of the Master of Ceremony, the toastmaster of the evening, the host of the event, we have our own: Kelvn!!! 

• I will also like to acknowledge the following members and guests who have agreed to take up appointments in this Chapter Meeting. They are: Andrew as SAA, Wilson from IPA TMC as Table Topics Master, Ted as timer, and  Zhi Yong as Ah Counter.

Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club 390th Chapter Meeting, A World Class Chapter Meeting

Dear Members and Guests

What's World Class?
Its means ranking among the best,
Its means being of international standard,
Its mean being of the highest order!

On the 390th chapter meeting, Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club showed that while 

we are certainly among the best in Singapore
we are certainly of regional standard
we are certainly of high order
We should all aim for the sky, aim for the limits, aim for the WORLD!!!

What happened on the evening of 21st OCT 2010, at the 390th Chapter Meeting of Tampines Changkat TMC?

Virginia, our Lady of Commitment shared with us on how to reach World Class.
All it takes are three words: Keeping our commitments.
By constantly attending chapter meetings, presenting projects, accept appointments we hone our abilities, sharpens our skills, elevate ourselves to WORLD CLASS

Linda, reminded us that to reach World Class we always need to be humble and know where we stand. Her story of the Bear and the Chipmunk is indeed thought provoking

To be World Class, what we learn from school is not enough. This is especially convincing since it comes from a teacher. Jin Sen, shared with us the 7 lessons we do not learn in school.

Experience is the greatest teacher in our bid to become World Class. Once again that idea is emphasized by Ted's maiden speech in TMC

To be world class, we need advisers, advisers that tell us what we have done right so that we can continue doing them. Advisers that tell us where we can improve and how we can do so.

Thank you Jei from Money Mastery TMC, Thank you Susan, Thank you Zhi Qiang!  Thank all you all for being the advisers to our club even if is its for that period of 2-3 min

Thank you Coen, for sharing with us what's World Class language's about and what's not World Class. You have once again demonstrated to us why you are such a top drawer in other clubs.

To be World Class, we need top notch crew to support our chapter meeting. I am proud to say that all if you are the BEST!

Thank you Thomas, you are an exemplary TME! You were so good that Ernest claims that you are his role model as he attempts the role of the TME for his first time.

Tampines Changkat Toastmasters Club 390th Chapter Meeting on 21 Oct 2010

Dear Members and Guests,

There was a time when people said that Singapore can't make it but we did.

Familiar? This was an excerpt from the song "Count on Me, Singapore"

It was year 1965, Singapore was in a perilous position.

It just got separated from Malaya, it had no natural resources, it was defenseless.

45 years down the road, we are still independent, we are a developed nation and we are going stronger.

What happened?

The government has what is termed as a World Class Mentality.

Members rejoice! For at Tampines Changkat TMC we are always geared towards getting to the world summit.

How do we get there in this chapter meeting? Have a sneak preview of what's going to happen:

• Virginia, will share with us on what it takes to be a successful club. I look forward to her sharing with us on how to keep the commitment. Virginia is the choice candidate for this topic.

• Ever since she delivered her speech on Honey, she has gotten the nick name, Honey. How will she engage our six senses with her vocal variety? I can't wait to find out as Linda delivers her Project 6.

• Another speaker will be embarking on a brand new journey to bring him to the world's summit. He is none other than Ted. Lets encourage him as he takes on the Project 1, The Ice Breaker

• To get to the top, we need feedback. Feedback, that help you continue what you have been doing well. Feedback, that helps you fine tune. Look forward to a line up of Evaluators, our very own Susan, Coen and Zhi Qiang as well as invited guests: Jei from Money Mastery TMC.

• For the role of the Master of Ceremony, the toastmaster of the evening, the host of the event, we have our own: Thomas !!!

A Big Thank You: Tampines Changkat TMC 389th Chapter Meeting on 7 Oct 2010

Dear Members,

7 Oct was a day to remember.
7 Oct was a day we learned the importance of seeing things anew
7 Oct was a day we learn to be humble and learn from others.
7 Oct sounds like a great day, what happened?

The TME, Zhi Qiang pulled up such a polished display that he was rated by our GE to be a veteran in TME. Great work Zhi Qiang!!!

Shaun, kick started an initiative unique to Tampines Changkat TMC! It is the Mentor Pool program.
In doing so, he also celebrated a group of Toastmasters who have agreed to share
their time, experience and competence with our members.

They are: Michael, Cheng Lee , Andrew, Susan, Virginia, Jin Hwui, Thomas, Nathaniel, Coen, Tony and Shaun

Soon after, Paul our guest speaker from Bradell Heights Advance tickled our funny bones with his story with "Uncle-hood"
We wish him all the best as he conquers the Area


Angela, was all smiles as she shared with us her love for GCE. Not O or A levels. But rather Growth, Courage and Encouragement!!!
We look forward to witnessing her growth in Tampines Changkat TMC

Zhi Yong, another of our newest member, he embarked on his brand new journey by sharing with us his 3 beliefs.
We look forward to knowing more of him beyond his three beliefs.

Once again our club has demonstrated the depth of talent it has:

Not only do we have excellent speakers, we have excellent evaluators as well.

The evaluators created much value not only for the speakers but for the club members.

They pointed out the good stuff so that we can continue doing it. They also point out the undesirables so that we can avoid repeating.

Lets extend our gratitude to: Nathaniel, Virginia and Robert. Thank you all for a job well done!!!

She had to observe the whole proceeding, right from the point when the program sheet was sent out to the last segment, prior to the her presentation.

She pointed out the gems of the meeting proceedings, and the not so glamorous parts of the meeting.

She is none other than our GE, SauYing!!! Thank you for keeping your eyes and ears wide open. Thank you for your recommendations!!!

Like the musical, our chapter meeting will not be successful without the crew of appointment holders:

Dear Members and Guests,

Remember the curiosity you had for things

Remember how everything used to be fresh,

Remember how fun it was to learn new things,

Do you still remember your childhood?

Children’s day have come and gone however the child in all of us stays with us!

This coming Thursday, at our upcoming 389^th Chapter Meeting rejoice as we relook at the way we see things again!

• Shaun Li, will celebrate a bunch of fantastic people, who are they, join us and you will know?

• He blazed a trail of glory as he emerged winner of the Area S4, Humorous Speech Contest. Prepare to be tickled as he presents his AP1 of the entertaining speaker manual. He is none other than Jin Hwui.

       How will he have for us this coming Thursday? I can’t wait to find out!

• There are not one but two speakers who are embarking on a brand new journey of self discovery. They are none other than Angela and Zhi Yong. Lets encourage them as they take on the Project 1, The Ice Breaker
